Job summary

Fleet Mobile Maintenance is seeking skilled technicians to service Class 8 tractors and trailers. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair across mobile and in-yard settings, with a focus on fast, accurate work orders and outstanding customer service.

Suitable candidates have 5+ years in tractor/trailer repair, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50+ pounds, and comfort with billing systems. Welding experience is a plus and ownership of tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience repairing Commercial Tractors and Trailers.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean record.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work with computer systems for billing and work orders.
• Follows written and verbal work orders to complete daily repairs.
• Confident explaining a diagnosis to customers and advising next steps.
• Welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, inspect and repair Class 8 tractors and trailers.
• Write detailed work orders and perform Mobile Road Calls or in-yard repairs.
• Provide quality customer service and respond to client queries.
• Perform preventive maintenance and replace parts like tires, hubs, and axles.
• Inspect and repair brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems and test performance.
• Ensure trailers meet DOT safety requirements and report findings.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, inspect and repair our customers Class 8 Commercial Tractors Trailers, their bodies, system and components.
• Writing detailed work orders - working Mobile Road Calls and/or In Yard.
• Provide quality customer service, including responding promptly to client queries.
• Performing preventative maintenance and inspecting, servicing, and replacing tractor and trailer parts, including tires, hubs, and axles, adjusting or replacing as required.
• Checking and repairing the brake, electrical, and hydraulic system;Testing all systems and equipment for performance issues.
• Ensuring that trailers meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements.
• Compiling inspection reports, documenting repairs, and reporting all findings to management.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:

• 5+ years of experience repairing Commercial Tractor and Trailers.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record & no suspensions.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Comfortable working with Computers for billing and work orders.
• Follows verbal and written work orders to stay on track with daily repairs.
• Confident explaining a diagnosis over the phone and helping the customer decide next steps on repairs.
