Job summary

Penn Jersey Diesel & Trailer is expanding and seeks a motivated Mobile Fleet Technician to service our Swedesville, NJ market. You’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain tractors and trailers on mobile road calls and in-yard, ensuring DOT readiness and timely communication with customers.

The role requires 5+ years in repair, a valid driver's license, and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds. CDL Class A and own tools are highly preferred; welding experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience repairing commercial tractors and trailers.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in a hands-on service environment.
• Basic computer and communication skills for repair orders, billing, and documentation.
• Reliable follow-through to complete daily tasks safely, accurately, and efficiently.
• Experience with welding a plus.
• High School Diploma or equivalent, technical school degree, a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial tractors, trailers, and fleet equipment—on mobile road calls and in-yard service.
• Keep customers moving by delivering prompt, professional service and clear communication.
• Inspect and service brakes, electrical and hydraulic systems, hubs, axles, tires, bodies, and trailer components.
• Perform preventative maintenance and test equipment to ensure safe, reliable performance.
• Document work accurately through detailed work orders, inspection reports, repair notes, and findings for management.
• Maintain DOT-ready standards so trailers meet U.S. Department of Transportation road safety requirements.
