Job summary

Mt. Carmel Stabilization Group is hiring a Mobile Fleet Technician to support field operations, perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair fleet assets, and document work in our systems.

The role requires driving to field locations, working outdoors, and coordinating with fleet teams to minimize downtime. We value safety, independence, and strong problem-solving skills, with pay and benefits including ESOP, paid training, and health options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in mobile mechanic/equipment maintenance role.
• Boom certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• English communication skills; Spanish bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on off-road equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with diagnostic tools.
• Complete minor to moderate repairs on fleet assets.
• Document field service work in internal systems.
• Coordinate with Fleet Coordinators on repair scheduling.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do as a Mobile Fleet Technician

You’ll work in the field supporting fleet operations by helping maintain safe, compliant, and reliable equipment across the enterprise. This role is focused on reducing downtime, supporting crews in the field, and ensuring company equipment stays operational and repair-ready.

• Perform routine scheduled preventive maintenance on off-road equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using approved diagnostic tools
• Complete minor to moderate repairs on company fleet assets
• Identify and report safety or compliance concerns related to equipment
• Document all field service work through internal work order systems
• Coordinate with Fleet Coordinators on repair scheduling and shop assignments
• Support fleet-related projects, equipment upgrades, and operational initiatives
• Assist operations teams with out-of-service units to reduce downtime
• Monitor and troubleshoot telematics and dashcam hardware
• Train crew-level leadership on operator-level maintenance practices
• Support cost savings initiatives and warranty recovery opportunities
• Travel frequently to field locations and work independently with minimal supervision
• Follow all company safety standards, OEM guidelines, and regulatory requirements

• What You Bring
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mobile mechanic, equipment technician, or similar maintenance role
• Boom certification or 3+ years working with booms and open to certification
• Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Ability to work independently in field environments with limited supervision
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Experience using computers, handheld devices, and Microsoft Office tools
• Basic mechanical tools and troubleshooting knowledge
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities
• Professionalism and ability to build trust with field teams, leadership, and vendors
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and travel demands
• Experience supporting construction or utility service vehicles
• OEM diagnostic software experience
• CDL license
• Bilingual Spanish speaking and writing skills
• Lift or move up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods
• Walk on uneven terrain and around active job sites
• Reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb into fleet vehicles or equipment
• Perform repetitive hand and arm movements
• Work in varying weather conditions and temperatures
• Safely operate tools, handheld devices, and diagnostic equipment
• Majority of work is performed outdoors and in the field
• Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels
• Frequent exposure to changing weather and environmental conditions
• Combination of field and office-based responsibilities
