Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is seeking a Mobile Fleet Mechanic to travel to customer locations in a company-provided service vehicle, performing maintenance on commercial trucks and fleet vehicles. This role offers a strong hourly rate plus uncapped earnings potential and growth opportunities.

Ideal candidates have experience in diesel mechanics, preventative maintenance, and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues on commercial vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Customer-focused attitude and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer fleet locations in a company-provided service vehicle.
• Perform preventive maintenance on trucks and fleet vehicles.
• Conduct oil changes, fluid exchanges, and scheduled maintenance.
• Install tires, perform repairs, rotations and inspections.
• Diagnose and complete light mechanical repairs.
• Inspect brakes and perform brake repairs.
• Conduct DOT and safety inspections.
• Identify service opportunities and recommend maintenance solutions.
• Build strong customer relationships and provide excellent service.
• Complete work orders and document maintenance accurately.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.

• Mobile Service Vehicle Provided
• Guaranteed Base Rate: $30 - $45/Hour DOE
• PLUS 35% Labor Sales Commission

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and at least 21 years of age.
• Must have one year of previous commercial truck or light mechanical service experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle required for the position and be able to meet commercial driver qualification requirements.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently in the field
• Customer-focused attitude and strong communication skills
