Job summary

Dennis Eagle is seeking a proactive Field Service Engineer to service, repair and maintain specialist vehicles at customer sites and company workshops across the UK. This mobile role requires diagnosing faults, executing routine servicing and preparing vehicles for MOTs to meet DOT standards.

You will travel to customer sites, log work in PDA software, and uphold health and safety while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance.
• Previous experience in Field Service, HGV Mechanic, Workshop Engineer.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of vehicle technology systems and compliance standards.
• Experience with electric vehicles, IRTEC qualification, or HGV Class 2 licence is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on vehicle chassis and mounted equipment.
• Carry out servicing and maintenance to a high standard.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure compliance with Department Of Transport specifications.
• Use diagnostic software and tools to identify and resolve issues.
• Log all work using PDA software and maintain accurate service records.
• Travel to customer sites across the UK, sometimes at short notice.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
• Communicate clearly with customers and provide excellent service.
• Support health and safety practices and complete risk assessments as required.
