Job summary

Southwest Material Handling is seeking a Field Technician to service customer equipment across sites, primarily traveling to customer locations from the Mira Loma headquarters in California. Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• 3–5 years forklift/material handling technician experience.
• Excellent driving record.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with customers in-house and in the field and build strong relationships.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and write clear job recommendations and descriptions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of parts and determine if parts need replacement or repair.
• Repair gasoline, LPG, electric or diesel-powered forklifts.
• Make repairs including replacing worn or broken parts, adjusting brakes, tightening bolts, aligning wheels.
• Lubricate vehicle and perform other duties related to lift truck maintenance and operation.
• Perform manual labor such as heavy lifting and operation of power equipment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and elevate issues as needed.
• Complete paperwork to open/close work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Keep van clean and report vehicle problems to supervisor.
