Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Equipment Mechanic to safely maintain and repair a range of complex rental equipment. You will travel to customer sites, keep detailed work orders, and support the training of junior technicians within the Service Department.

The role emphasizes strong mechanical skills, OEM knowledge, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. Applicants should have a high school diploma, a valid license, and the ability to lift up to 45 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• 1–2+ years repairing/maintaining vehicles or trade school graduate.
• Strong mechanical background with engines.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel).
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic work orders accurately and timely.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties as needed.
