MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
No experience or training is required.
Function of Work:
To operate light mobile equipment for transportation, maintenance, or construction tasks.

Level of Work:
Experienced.

Supervision Received:
General supervision from a Foreman, supervisor, or higher-level maintenance personnel.

Supervision Exercised:
May lead laborers or lower-graded personnel.

Location of Work:
May be used statewide by all agencies.

Job Distinctions:
Different from laboring classes by the requirement to operate light mobile equipment as a primary duty.

Different from Mobile Equipment Operator 1 by focusing on lighter mobile equipment.

NOTE:
Operation of specified equipment must be the primary, regular, and recurring function of the job, including:
- Rotary mowers (14-30 horsepower)
- Lawn or turf tractors (up to 30 horsepower)
- Sedans, station wagons, limousines
- Pick-up trucks or vans (up to 1 ton)
- Small warehouse tow motors
- Forklifts (up to 10,000 lbs. capacity, under 12 feet lift height)
May also operate auxiliary equipment such as lawn sweepers, air compressors, jackhammers, etc.
Performs minor repairs and maintenance to keep equipment in good working order.
Maintains vehicle records, including trips, mileage, and fuel consumption.
