This is a continuous recruitment for: Tangipahoa, Livingston, St. Helena, St. Tammany, St. John, & Washington Parishes ONLY.
As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Mobile Equipment Operator 1 or 2 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).
- Valid Louisiana driver’s license required upon appointment.
- Starting salary: $16.06/hour, with an additional $1.00/hour for all hours worked.
- A 10% base pay increase will be granted upon attainment of permanent status.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required upon appointment.
- Starting salary: $17.18/hour, with an additional $1.00/hour for all hours worked.
- A 10% base pay increase will be granted upon attainment of permanent status.

No experience or training required.
Function of Work: Operate mobile equipment to accomplish transportation, maintenance, or construction tasks.
Level of Work: Experienced.
Supervision Received: General from a foreman or higher-level personnel.
Supervision Exercised: May oversee lower graded operators or laborers.
Location of Work: Statewide, may be used by all agencies.
Job Distinctions: Differ from Light Mobile Equipment Operator by operating larger, more complex equipment. Differ from Mobile Equipment Operator 2 by operating lighter, less complicated equipment.
Note: Operation of enumerated equipment must be the primary, regular, and recurring function of the job, including tractors, dump trucks, vans, forklifts, rollers, and auxiliary equipment. May operate any equipment for work objectives and perform minor repairs and maintenance.
