Job summary

Sibanye-Stillwater is seeking a Mechanic 1, 2, or 3 for the Stillwater Mine in Nye, MT. The role covers mobile maintenance of underground and surface equipment, including LHDs, drills, rail haulage, and surface vehicles, with remote control systems.

Shifts rotate 5x4x4x5; Day shift 7:00am–6:30pm and Night shift 7:00pm–6:30am. Candidates should have strong mechanical skills, schematics literacy, rigging knowledge, and a commitment to safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy equipment.
• Ability to read schematics and service manuals.
• Knowledge of rigging procedures and safety standards.

Mechanic 1, 2, or 3 - Mobile Maintenance

Stillwater Mine- Nye, MT

Schedule:

Rotating - 5x4x4x5

Day Shift: 7:00am - 6:30pm

Night Shift: 7:00pm - 6:30am

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Employ predictive and preventive maintenance techniques to ensure high availability of equipment. Maintain equipment to maximize safety and productivity. Repair and service of mobile underground and surface equipment such as LHD's, drills, rail haulage equipment, and surface vehicles (including remote control systems).

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous Mechanical experience with skills necessary to meet applicable task proficiency matrix (i.e. troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, electrical and diesel engines with a primary focus on diesel equipment)
• Previous experience with schematics, parts and service manuals
• Working knowledge of rigging procedures
• Demonstrated knowledge of start-up, shut-down, tag-out and safety procedures on equipment
• Overhead crane operation and inspection experience or equivalent
• Consistent, effective written communication skills with attention to detail
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Independent work habits
• Must have the required tools per SMC tool list

Preferred:

• Underground equipment maintenance experience
• Demonstrated gas/arc welding and oxy-acetylene cutting work experience
• Computer experience
• Planning and Scheduling experience
