Job summary

McConway and Torley in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic to support production crews by servicing and repairing mobile equipment at the plant.

You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and collaborate with experienced technicians while following safety rules and procedures. Candidates must have at least 2 years of related experience and a high school diploma; ability to work any shift is essential.

Responsibilities

• With readily available technical guidance, keep mobile equipment in good repair.
• Respond in a timely manner to work orders and management requests.
• Examine a variety of machines to diagnose trouble and recommend repair.
• Dismantle mobile equipment, replace defective parts, reassemble mobile equipment and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
• Assist more experienced maintenance mechanics as assigned.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies regarding safety.
• Work around a wide variety of equipment, chemicals and machinery; must be aware of safety hazards at all times.
• Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned.
• Available to work any and all shifts.

McConway and Torley is looking for a Mechanic. As a Mechanic you will provide assistance to production crews in mechanical and machine operations, building and facilities and associated equipment. You will be primarily working on and servicing the mobile equipment that we have at the plant.

What You'll Need:

Working Conditions:

• Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.
• This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
• Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant

Safety Activities:

• Be aware of and observe all safety practices. Including but not limited to- Safety glasses, safety boots, hearing protection, etc… as required
• Know and follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned.
