Job summary

Vetwerx Equine South in Parker, Colorado is seeking a reliable, motivated Veterinary Assistant to join a full-time ambulatory team working with veterinarians in mobile care across Colorado’s southern Denver Metro. The role involves assisting with routine exams, diagnostic procedures, treatments, and emergencies, with emphasis on equine handling and patient comfort.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM. The ideal candidate has experience with horses; high school diploma or GED; strong

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior equine handling experience required.
• Ability to confidently and safely handle horses of varying temperaments.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing schedules and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and restrain equine patients during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Jog and lunge horses for lameness and soundness evaluations.
• Assist veterinarians with routine appointments, diagnostic procedures, treatments, and emergencies.
• Prepare and set up veterinary equipment, including ultrasound, endoscopy, dental floats, shockwave, and radiography equipment.
• Clean, disinfect, and properly maintain veterinary instruments and equipment.
• Stock, organize, and maintain inventory in ambulatory veterinary trucks.
• Enter invoices, process client payments, and update client and patient information in hospital management software.
• Assist with maintaining accurate and complete medical records.
• Prepare and submit laboratory samples.
• Communicate professionally with clients and other team members.
