PetVet Care Centers’ Vetwerx Equine South in Parker, Colorado, is seeking a reliable, motivated Veterinary Assistant to join as a full-time team member. You will work directly with veterinarians in ambulatory settings, traveling to appointments and assisting with routine examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and emergencies.

The ideal candidate has strong equine handling skills, is comfortable with nervous horses, and can jog and lunge for lameness evaluations.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Prior equine handling experience is required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing schedules and priorities.

Responsabilidades

• Safely handle and restrain equine patients during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Jog and lunge horses for lameness and soundness evaluations.
• Assist veterinarians with routine appointments, diagnostic procedures, treatments, and emergencies.
• Prepare and set up veterinary equipment, including ultrasound, endoscopy, dental floats, shockwave, and radiography equipment.
• Clean, disinfect, and properly maintain veterinary instruments and equipment.
• Stock, organize, and maintain inventory in ambulatory veterinary trucks.
• Enter invoices, process client payments, and update client and patient information in hospital management software.
• Assist with maintaining accurate and complete medical records.
• Prepare and submit laboratory samples.
• Communicate professionally with clients and other team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the veterinarian or management.
