Job summary

Evlo AI in San Diego is seeking a mobile engineer to own end-to-end development, performance, and reliability of native iOS and Android apps reaching millions of users. You will build responsive UI and offline-first architectures in collaboration with designers and backend engineers.

The role emphasizes rapid delivery in an agile environment, profiling and optimizing performance, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years on native iOS or Android.
• Proficient in Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, or Java; familiar with mobile design patterns MVVM, MVP, VIPER.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and real-time data websockets into mobile clients.
• Strong understanding of offline storage, caching strategies, and performance optimization on mobile.

Responsibilities

• Design and build advanced native mobile applications for iOS and Android with high performance and responsiveness.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features within fast-paced agile release cycles
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new mobile technologies and development frameworks to maximize development efficiency
• Identify and fix application bottlenecks, memory leaks, and concurrency issues using profiling tools like Xcode Instruments and Android Profiler

What We Are Looking For

• 3-6 years of professional software engineering experience with at least 3 years dedicated to native iOS or Android development
• Deep proficiency in Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, or Java, alongside a strong grasp of mobile design patterns like MVVM, MVP, or VIPER
• Demonstrated experience integrating RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and real-time data websockets into mobile clients
• Solid understanding of offline storage paradigms, caching strategies, and performance optimization techniques on mobile devices
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical industry experience
• Bonus: Experience with cross-platform frameworks like React Native or Flutter, and prior contributions to open-source mobile libraries
