Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking an Mobile Engineer III, iOS, to own and enhance production-grade checkout applications. You will design secure, high‑performing iOS apps, translate requirements into robust designs, and collaborate with backend, product, and design teams to deliver complete user journeys.

You will continue to optimize reliability, write testable code, and contribute to monitoring and reviews while safely integrating AI/ML capabilities within privacy and security constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional experience shipping native iOS applications with ownership from design through production.
• Strong iOS architecture, low‑level design, API integration, and data modeling experience.
• Proficiency with iOS tools, frameworks, testing, observability, and operational best practices.

As a Mobile Engineer III, iOS, working on Expedia’s critical production checkout applications, your mission will be to ensure Expedia Checkout is always fast, available, scalable, and engineered to withstand unparalleled demand. You will be in the thick of solving the [often unexpected] problems of systems at scale in a way most engineers never experience. You will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, proficiency in coding and systems design, solid interpersonal skills, and a desire to tackle the complex problems of scale. In This Role, You Will:

• Design, build, and maintain native iOS applications that are secure, performant, and resilient using modern iOS frameworks and best practices

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or 5 years of equivalent practical experience
• Professional experience shipping native iOS applications with ownership from design through production
• Strong iOS architecture, low‑level design, API integration, and data modeling experience
• Proficiency with iOS tools, frameworks, testing, observability, and operational best practices
• Experience collaborating in cross‑functional, multi‑domain teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing and scaling complex iOS architectures (modularization, performance, offline support)
• Proven delivery of high‑impact iOS features across multiple domains
• Strong focus on operational excellence (instrumentation, monitoring, alerting, incident resolution)
• Experience integrating AI/ML‑enabled capabilities into mobile apps securely and responsibly
• Familiarity with AI‑driven development tools and applying AI/ML concepts to improve product quality and developer efficiency

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $146,000.00 to $204,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $233,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
