Job description

The Role:

Our Product Engineering team collaborates closely with Product Management and Design to scale and strengthen the Web and mobile experiences for all of our audiences. Our powerful healthcare navigation app includes personalized Provider matching, 24/7 Telemedicine+, Expert opinions on diagnoses and treatment plans, and medical claims advocacy.

We are seeking a Mobile Engineer to join our growing Product Engineering team to help build the mobile experience in a fast, accessible, and intuitive way. You will play a key role in the implementation and launch of our mobile applications. You will closely partner with our Product and Design teams on application design, user experience, developer workflows, deployment strategies, and testing of the native mobile applications.

About You:

You are excited about breaking ground on a brand new code base, being on a growing high performance team, collaborating on the standard of quality for mobile development, strategizing how we deliver impact for the business, and executing on the vision of world-class mobile applications.

In your first 30 days, you will:

1. Gain an understanding of our infrastructure, architecture, and deployment workflows
2. Come up to speed on business impact, product vision, and technology expectations for delivering world-class mobile applications
3. Become a member of an Agile team, working closely with Product and Design to deliver on foundational functionality for the mobile application

In your first 60 days, you will:

1. Participate in Engineering Demo Days where engineers highlight progress made in the last iteration
2. Take part in peer code reviews and code pairing
3. Deliver core features for our members' mobile experiences

In your first 90 days, you will:

1. Become a valued resource on our team by helping other engineers troubleshoot problems, pair through code sessions, and wow your peers with creative approaches to complex problems
2. Actively participate in the hiring of a motivated, talented group of mobile engineers
3. Contribute to longer term strategy of creating frictionless and performant mobile experiences for our growing member base

Responsibilities:

1. Build, test, and deploy user experiences in our mobile application
2. Measure and optimize the performance of the mobile application at scale
3. Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers on planning and implementing frictionless user experiences
4. Work with the team to continue development of best practices
5. Be self-motivated with the ability to make smart decisions and ask questions when necessary

Qualifications:

1. Bachelors or Masters in EE or CS, or relevant experience
2. 3+ years of professional mobile development
3. Command of Kotlin & Swift languages
4. Exceptional technical communication skills
5. Experience integrating and leveraging external services for purposes such as user analytics, feature flagging, and authentication
6. Solid understanding of mobile UI/UX best practices and standards
7. Thorough understanding of RESTful API and application design
8. Experience in our other technologies a bonus: GraphQL, JavaScript, React, ReactNative, AWS

The United States new hire base salary target ranges for this full-time position are:

Zone A: $118,640 - $167,580 + equity + benefits

Zone B: $136,436 - $192,717 + equity + benefits

Zone C: $148,300 - $209,475 + equity + benefits

Zone D: $154,232 - $217,854 + equity + benefits

This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for candidates based on their respective Zone. Below is additional information on Included Health's commitment to maintaining transparent and equitable compensation practices across our distinct geographic zones.

Starting base salary for the successful candidate will depend on several job-related factors, unique to each candidate, which may include, but not limited to, education; training; skill set; years and depth of experience; certifications and licensure; business needs; internal peer equity; organizational considerations; and alignment with geographic and market data. Compensation structures and ranges are tailored to each zone's unique market conditions to ensure that all employees receive fair and competitive compensation based on their roles and locations. In addition to receiving a competitive base salary, the compensation package may include, depending on the role, the following:
