Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield seeks a Mobile Engineer for Dallas/Ft Worth, TX, to maintain and repair building systems across client properties. You’ll perform HVAC, electrical, plumbing tasks and support building operations with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, inspections, and responding to emergencies. Travel may be required; strong problem solving and communication skills are essential to coordinate with tenants and vendors.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; apprenticeship/trade school preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and related systems.
  • Must hold valid state driver’s license and appropriate trade licenses/permits where required.
  • EPA Section 608 Universal refrigerant certification.
  • Knowledge of building systems operations and energy management is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair boilers, pumps, valves, and distribution lines.
  • Inspect facilities and report conditions impacting occupancy and operations.
  • Respond to emergencies; travel may be required.
  • Maintain stock and inventory of parts; submit monthly operation reports.
  • Familiarize with building automation and life-safety systems.

Mobile Engineer - Dallas / Ft Worth, TX

Job Description

Mobile Engineer responsible for ensuring ongoing preventive maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment within assigned client buildings.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, lighting, HVAC, plumbing, building interior/exterior repair, and grounds.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, steam and hot water distribution lines, and related equipment.
  • Perform facility inspections and due diligence, reporting conditions that impact client occupancy and operations.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and be available for light travel during emergency events.
  • Maintain stock and inventory control of required parts and supplies.
  • Recommend improvements to the preventive maintenance program and operational practices.
  • Compile and submit monthly reports to inform management of building operations.
  • Familiarize with building automation systems, fire/life safety systems, and other building-related equipment as needed.
  • Recognize safety hazards, propose elimination methods or appropriate PPE usage.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
  • Maintain all required Federal, State, or Local licenses for assigned locations.
  • Complete required C&W Safety Training and adhere to C&W Uniform Dress Code.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required. Graduate of an apprenticeship program or trade school preferred.

Years of Relevant Experience

Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering, with a strong background in HVAC equipment, plumbing, electrical, equipment repair and maintenance, and overall system design and application.

Licenses or Certifications

  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Appropriate trade license/permit for the location, if required.
  • Valid “Universal” level certification for CFC and HFC-based refrigerants (EPA Section 608).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Operation, maintenance, and basic repair of HVAC, boilers, heaters, pumps, refrigerant systems, compressors, gas lines, and water systems.
  • Knowledge of energy management systems, techniques, and operations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building systems operations, maintenance, and repair.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with tenants, clients, and vendors.
  • Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel & Word; proficiency with smartphones and iPad/tablet for uploading PDFs and documents.
  • Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.

Physical Work Requirements

  • Ability to perform work while wearing Personal Protective Equipment if required.
  • May require regular travel between properties and in varying weather conditions.
  • Considerable physical activity: stoop, stand, climb, lean, lift a minimum of 50 lbs, use rigging/lifting devices, crouch, and reach as necessary.
  • Maintain clear speaking, reading, and writing abilities.

Scheduling

  • Typical business hours based on location assigned.
  • May require shift work, on‑call duties, overtime, and after‑hours/weekend support for emergencies.
  • May serve as sole maintenance staff during certain shifts.

Conditions of Employment

  • Legal documentation proving identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Drug testing, criminal background check, clean DMV record for driving roles.
  • Education verification and reference checks.

Compensation range: $39.23 – $46.15 per hour.
