Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) is seeking a Mobile Engineer to support 5-6 retail stores within a region. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on commercial RTUs and split systems, along with general trades such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and roofing.

You will work with a company vehicle, gas card, tools, iPad and iPhone. The position offers day-to-day responsibility, with a focus on safety, compliance and timely completion of work

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of related experience or trade school training.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate a full-size van/truck.
  • Universal CFC or EPA certification preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communications.
  • Proficient with computer/PDA for work orders, email and training.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance; document activities.
  • Review work orders, estimate time/materials, and order necessary supplies; use CMMS to track tasks.
  • Lead troubleshooting and repairs of HVAC, plumbing, roofs and drains.
  • Inspect new installations for building code and safety compliance.
  • Inspect building systems (fire alarms, HVAC/R, plumbing) for operation within design specs.
  • Oversee the work of outside contractors.
  • Maintain lighting systems and perform repairs to fixtures and ballasts.
  • Perform furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies and summon additional help.
  • Report daily activities via PDA.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Candidate will support assigned service calls for 5-6 retail stores within a geographical area. Will be responsible for troubleshooting repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on commercial RTUs and split systems as well as general maintenance related to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, flooring, roofing, etc. Company vehicle, gas card, tools, IPad, and IPhone will be provided.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance. Completes' maintenance and repairs, records as required.
  • Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Orders necessary materials and supplies to finish the tasks. Uses CMMS to manage work orders and track completion.
  • Leads troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include: HVAC, plumbing systems, roofs, drains.
  • Inspects new installation for compliance with building codes and safety laws.
  • Inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC/R, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
  • Oversees and inspects the work performed by outside contractors.
  • Maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.
  • Performes furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.
  • Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Report and communicate daily all work activity via PDA device
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or trade school training.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks
  • Possess necessary skills to functionally operate a "full size" van/truck
  • Universal CFC or EPA certification preferred.
  • Excellent social skills, including oral and written communications
  • Uses computer and / or PDA for work order system, email, and training.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Mobile Engineer position is $56,160 annually [or $27.00 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Mobile Service Engineer position is $72,800 annually [or $35.00 per hour]. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
