Job summary

JLL is seeking a Mobile Technician to perform non-standardized maintenance across data center facilities, including HVAC, electrical, and building automation systems. The role involves hands-on repair, field tests, and data compilation to support operation of critical environments.

You will collaborate with supervisors, adapt procedures, and ensure safety and reliability of all facility equipment, including generators, UPS, and switchgear. Prior data center exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Data center or heavy industrial experience related to electrical, HVAC, and mechanical skills is strongly preferred.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and building systems to keep properties in peak condition.
  • Candidate may be subject to a DoD background investigation and clearance as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on repair and maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems at assigned facilities.
  • Operate and troubleshoot building automation systems, generators, UPS, and related switchgear.
  • Construct components or adapt equipment; troubleshoot malfunctions and run tests with standard equipment.
  • Extract and compile engineering data from field notes and reports; present data and identify inconsistencies.
  • Use CMMS for reporting and tracking asset status; coordinate with vendors for urgent/reactive calls.
  • Ensure safe operation, inspection, and maintenance to extend equipment life and reliability.

Job description

  • The Mobile Technician performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed
  • Selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment using fully applicable precedents
  • Receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed performs recurring work independently
  • Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.
  • Hands-on repair & maintenance work and/or supervision of work on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation systems, generators and associated switchgear, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, Fire and Life Safety systems, card access systems, door & gates systems, building envelope systems, grounds and parking lots, interior finish systems, lighting systems, and various other R&M tasks associated with operation of a commercial property.
  • Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions;
  • Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and records test dns in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, data;
  • Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation.
  • Assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts; developing information concerning previous operational failures and modifications and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.
  • Ensures the safe operation, inspection and maintenance of all HVAC, mechanical, electrical, lighting, and plumbing equipment, and systems in assigned facilities, to obtain efficient operating results and increase equipment life expectancy.
  • Performs Preventive, Reactive and Corrective Maintenance for all assigned facility equipment utilizing CMMS systems, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, etc. Utilizes CMMS system for the reporting and tracking of all equipment assets in supported facilities. Utilizes additional company software resources for reporting and tracking equipment operational status, to reduce client equipment “down time” to a minimum.
  • Works with vendors to maintain technician response times for Urgent and Emergent reactive call outs. After hour emergent/urgent responses may be required.
  • Oversees vendors in installation, upgrade, and improvement projects for supported facilities.

Requirements
  • Data center or heavy industrial experience related to electrical, HVAC, and/or mechanical skills within critical environments is strongly preferred.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair service work on HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and various other building systems to maintain the properties in peak operational condition
  • Employee to be subject to and pass a DoD background investigation.
  • Employee to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance level commensurate with the specific position
