Job summary

S:US is seeking an Substance Use Counselor to join our mobile ACT team in New York. You will provide substance use services, conduct assessments, and deliver integrated care alongside mental health professionals in a field-based setting.

Responsibilities include developing and revising service plans, on-call coverage, and extensive travel as required. CASAC-T and 2+ years of dual-diagnosis experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred.
• Certified Substance Abuse and Alcoholism Counselor - Trainee (CASAC-T).
• Must have two or more years’ experience working with dually diagnosed individuals including the delivery of integrated services.
• Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Integrate dual-recovery treatment with the ACT team.
• Works with both mental health and substance abuse in conjunction with the tasks of other team members.
• Conducts assessments for substance abuse services.
• Conducts treatments in conjunction with the other team members.
• Documentation of services and charting; create or revise service plans as needed.
• Be on-call rotation and back up the social worker.
• Field work and travel is required.
