Job summary

Versiti Blood Center of Ohio is seeking a phlebotomy technician to perform blood and apheresis collections, interact with donors, and ensure a high level of customer service for an excellent donation experience.

The role involves operating a mobile drive vehicle, loading/unloading supplies, and transporting staff safely to various collection sites. Evening, weekend, and holiday hours are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid drivers license with driving experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to read SOPs.
• Able to perform basic math and maintain accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with computer applications (Ceridian, Hemasphere, Oracle, HemaTerra).

Responsibilities

• Follows DOT guidelines when operating a full-size van/Promaster and transports staff and equipment.
• Travel to local collection sites as needed by the business.
• Set up at mobile sites and handle tech systems and quality control.
• Perform donor screening, mini-physical, and phlebotomy.
• Monitor donors for reactions, provide care, and coordinate with host organizations.
• Recruit for automation (Alyx/Trima) and schedule future donations.
