Job summary

Garden Springs Healthcare is seeking a Mobile Director of Nursing (RN) to provide executive nursing leadership across its Ohio facilities. The Mobile DON will serve as acting DON during transitions, vacancies, or leaves, ensuring high-quality resident care and continuity.

The role requires an active Ohio RN license, 5+ years of progressive nursing leadership, and at least 2 years as a DON in a skilled nursing setting. Travel throughout Ohio with a competitive compensation package is offered.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 5 years progressive nursing leadership experience.
• At least 2 years as a Director of Nursing in a skilled nursing facility.
• Extensive knowledge of CMS regulations, Ohio Department of Health, QAPI, Infection Prevention, and LTCS survey processes.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
• Ability to quickly assess operations and lead teams through change.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership of the Nursing Department at assigned facilities.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, Ohio Department of Health, and company standards.
• Maintain survey readiness and lead facilities through state and federal surveys.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and labor management.
• Lead QAPI initiatives and drive performance improvement.
• Mentor nurse managers, supervisors, and clinical staff.
• Monitor clinical outcomes and implement improvement actions.
• Collaborate with facility admins, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and transition of new Directors of Nursing.
• Identify operational opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure outstanding resident care and customer service across assignments.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Director of Nursing (RN) to provide executive nursing leadership across our growing network of skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers throughout Ohio. As our Mobile DON, you will serve as the acting Director of Nursing at facilities during leadership transitions, vacancies, leaves of absence, or other operational needs, ensuring exceptional clinical outcomes and continuity of resident care.

Responsibilities

As the Mobile Director of Nursing, you will assume full responsibility for all nursing operations at your assigned facility, including:

• Providing day-to-day leadership of the Nursing Department
• Ensuring compliance with CMS, Ohio Department of Health, and company standards
• Maintaining survey readiness and leading facilities through state and federal surveys
• Overseeing staffing, scheduling, and labor management
• Leading Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
• Mentoring and developing nurse managers, supervisors, and clinical staff

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of CMS Regulations, Ohio Department of Health requirements, QAPI, Infection Prevention, and Long-Term Care Survey Process
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational skills
• Ability to quickly assess operations and lead teams through change

Travel Requirements

• Be willing to travel throughout Ohio
• Stay overnight when business needs require
• Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Be available for occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call support
• Travel expenses are reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
