Job summary

American Medical Administrators is seeking a Mobile Director of Nursing (DON) to provide interim leadership at assigned facilities in Akron and surrounding areas. The role requires traveling frequently to facilities within the region to support leadership transitions and ensure quality of care.

You will mentor nursing leadership, ensure regulatory compliance, participate in leadership meetings, and assist with surveys and audits.

Responsibilities

• Provide interim leadership as the acting Director of Nursing at assigned facilities as needed.
• Assess and stabilize nursing operations during leadership transitions, regulatory challenges, or staffing shortages.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and company regulations and standards of care.
• Assist facilities with preparation and response to state surveys and audits.
• Monitor quality metrics, develop action plans, and support implementation to improve clinical outcomes.
• Mentor and train facility nursing leadership and staff on clinical best practices, documentation, and company policies.
• Participate in facility and regional leadership meetings as a clinical resource.
• Provide support during crisis management situations including infection control outbreaks or major clinical incidents.
• Travel frequently to assigned facilities within the region or company footprint.
• Actively participate in the onboarding of new Directors of Nursing.
• Report clinical concerns and progress regularly to regional and executive leadership.
