Job summary

The Halter Group is seeking a full‑time Mobile Diesel Mechanic to service heavy‑duty trucks, trailers and equipment across the KY, TN and GA region. The role requires mobility, reliability, and willingness to travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities include diagnosing, inspecting, repairing and maintaining diesel systems, with safety and DOT compliance as a priority. A CDL‑B training path may be available through the company program.

Qualifications

• Diesel automotive repair – diagnose and repair large equipment on the job
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems
• Strong reading and writing for manuals, reports and field support
• Customer service focus with preventative maintenance training
• Physical requirements including lifting and working in varied conditions
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Service, inspect, repair, and track diesel engines, transmissions and related systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on heavy‑duty diesel engines and equipment.
• Prioritize work orders and repairs based on importance.
• Maintain safety standards and DOT compliance.
• Coordinate with field staff and document service records.
• Use diagnostic tools to improve engine efficiency and resolve issues.
