Job summary

Prestige Fleet Services in the Madison area seeks a skilled diesel technician to diagnose and repair Class 6-8 tractors, perform DOT inspections, and handle preventive maintenance. You will use company devices for road calls and yard work, with a focus on customer service and accurate reporting.

Requirements include 3+ years of experience on Class 8 tractors, valid CDL, ability to lift 50+ lbs, and comfort with billing software. Tools of your trade and a supportive team are provided.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience repairing Commercial Class 8 Tractors.
• Experience with federal/annual inspections and brake checks.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean record; able to lift 50+ lbs.
• Comfort using computers for billing and work orders.
• Self-motivated with strong organization and planning.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect, and repair Class 6-8 tractors with related trailer work.
• Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections; service parts.
• Write work orders and manage repair orders on a mobile device.
• Inspect tractors/trailers to meet DOT road-safety rules.
• Manage service truck inventory and source parts locally.
• Complete inspection reports and DOT documentation accurately.
• Deliver strong customer service and report findings to management.
