Job summary

Velocity Truck Rental and Leasing is seeking a Diesel Technician to join our Fontana, CA team. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on light to heavy-duty tractors, service on-site with a service truck, and ensure safety and compliance while maintaining vehicle records.

Expect Monday–Friday 7:00am–3:30pm, competitive pay, and full-time benefits. The role emphasizes on-site diagnostics, tire service, and cost-conscious maintenance using warranties and service options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent required.
• Post-secondary vocational education preferred.
• Experience in mechanical inspections and repairs in a related field.
• Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Class B license.
• Fleet and mobile maintenance experience a plus.
• Basic set of hand tools up to 1 1/2” and 1/2 drive pneumatics.
• Technical understanding with attention to detail.
• Strong verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Capable of maintaining accurate inventory control.
• Ability to implement a strong safety environment at all times.
• Ability to work alone with little or no direction at times.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty tractors and equipment.
• Operate a service truck and perform on-site inspections.
• Diagnose and address vehicle breakdowns.
• Replace and adjust worn components and verify repairs via test drives.
• Perform tire replacements, rotations, mounting and dismounting.
• Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements.
• Maintain vehicle records and manage costs using warranties and evaluating service options.
