Job summary

Xylem seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician to service customers in the Salt Lake City area. You will travel in a company vehicle to perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on diesel-powered pump equipment and related systems.

The role requires hands-on mechanical ability, ability to work independently, and strong troubleshooting. You will read manuals, document service reports, and communicate clearly with customers, with occasional overtime and local travel.

Qualifications

3+ years of diesel technician, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, or automotive technician experience required.
Strong mechanical aptitude with proven diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
Experience working on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pumps, or industrial equipment is highly preferred.
Automotive technicians with strong diagnostic experience are encouraged to apply.
Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

Travel to customer sites using a company-provided service vehicle.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel-powered pump equipment and related mechanical systems.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) services to maximize equipment reliability.
Respond to emergency service calls and minimize equipment downtime.
Complete service reports, work orders, and required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
