Job summary

True North Fleet Services is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to support a key customer-site operation in Atlanta, GA. The role requires diagnosing and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, and performing preventive maintenance in customer locations and shops.

Candidates should bring their own tools and demonstrate strong communication, time management, and safety practices, representing Kales and True North professionally. Weekly travel to job sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience required.
• Must have own tools, bring personal tool set.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical problems and perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on various types of equipment, including service trucks and concrete trucks.
• Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose defects.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance such as lubrication, oil changes, DPF system service, and failure analysis.
• Perform routine brake inspections and adjustments on commercial vehicles in accordance with Federal DOT requirements.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, electronics, and other components on concrete mixer trucks, tractor and dump trailers, pneumatic cement tankers, forklifts, Moffett trucks, and wheel loaders.
• Remove components for repair or replacement, including injectors, starters, water pumps, radiators, brakes, and tire inflation systems.
• Create work orders for repairs and services, providing legible and accurate information on work performed.
• Coordinate with the location shop lead or supervisor and review pretrip/posttrip truck inspections to prioritize work accordingly.
• Input daily repair order forms into the software-based tracking program.
• Communicate with drivers and plant managers to ensure adherence to preventative vehicle maintenance policies and practices.
• Travel to job sites on a weekly basis to perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections
• May assist in the maintenance and repair of fixed production equipment
• Adhere to all customer and OSHA rules and regulations at all times
• Wear proper safety equipment while in shops or production areas
• Meet or exceed company safety standards
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management
