Job summary

Mid-Atlantic Truck & Equipment is seeking a Mobile Heavy Diesel Technician to join our Chesapeake field service team. You will travel in a MATE service truck to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and equipment at customer sites.

You’ll work on a diverse range including service cranes, roll-offs, street sweepers, and dump trucks, using diagnostic tools and hands-on skills. Training and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty trucks and/or equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, and drivetrains.
• Ability to troubleshoot using diagnostic tools with a systematic approach.
• Must have own basic hand tools; valid driver's license; CDL A/B is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites in your MATE service truck to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
• Work on cranes, roll-offs, street sweepers, dump trucks and other specialized equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel engine, and related system issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, lubrication, tire and component replacement, cooling system maintenance, and other repairs.
• Communicate with the Service Manager and team regarding diagnoses, parts, and support.
