Job summary

Mid-Atlantic Truck & Equipment is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician to join our Chesapeake field service team. You’ll travel to customer sites in a take-home service truck, diagnose and repair heavy‑duty trucks and equipment, and keep equipment in service.

The role features a Monday–Friday schedule, no flat‑rate pay, an annual tool allowance, and comprehensive benefits including PTO, holidays, health coverage, and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy‑duty trucks and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, drivetrains and related systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools and a systematic approach.
• Must have your own basic hand tools.
• Valid driver's license; Class A or B CDL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites in your MATE service truck to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy‑duty trucks and equipment.
• Work on a diverse product line including service cranes, roll‑offs, street sweepers, and dump trucks.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine issues with diagnostic equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, and component replacements.
• Maintain accurate electronic work orders documenting work performed and parts used.
