Job summary

NFI is hiring a Diesel Technician to join our maintenance team in Virginia. You will troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues on tractors and trailers using JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows, while performing preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.

You must have a valid driver’s license, with Class A preferred. A technical or advanced degree or 1+ year of related experience is expected, along with strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Preferred ability to obtain a Class A license.
• Technical or advanced degree or 1 year+ of equivalent maintenance experience.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting equipment repairs and maintenance with diagnostic tools (JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, Windows).
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Examples of teamwork and customer service skills, including good oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical tractor and trailer-related issues using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment such as JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows.
• Perform preventive maintenance on our fleet of tractors & trailers.
• Perform DOT inspection per FMSCA guidelines.
• Physically capable to perform all job duties (lift/pull 75 lbs+, stand or lie for extended periods, flexible movement to reach equipment).

• Physically capable to perform all job duties, which include being able to lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more without restriction, stand or lie for extended periods, and have flexible movement to reach equipment.
