Job summary

Kenworth Northeast in Middleton, MA seeks a Diesel Truck Mobile Service Technician to service on-site and customer vehicles. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a range of commercial truck systems, including engine, transmission, HVAC, and electrical CAN networks, while maintaining professional customer interactions.

This role requires 4+ years hands-on experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel within the contiguous US for training. CDL is not required but a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required; CDL not mandatory but a plus.
• Minimum 4 years hands-on diesel truck experience preferred.
• Deep knowledge of air conditioning, air brakes, ABS, and CAN electrical systems.
• Experience with Cummins Guidanz and PACCAR Diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical duties and assist in technical tasks.
• Troubleshoot and repair all truck systems on commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose transmission, clutch, and differential failures.
• Repair HVAC and electrical systems on highway trucks.
• Maintain service truck, tools, and safety practices; coordinate with admin for scheduling.

*Salary range for this position is $40-50/hour depending on experience*

Requirements

• Valid Drivers License with a clean MVR. CDL not required but is a plus.
• Required to pass a NON CDL Dot physical
• Minimum 4 years hands-on experience.
• Road service/mobile tech experience preferred
• Experience in a truck dealership preferred.
• Deep understanding of Air Conditioning theory, air brake systems, ABS systems, & modern electrical CAN.
• Proficiency in the use of Cummins Guidanz and PACCAR Diagnostic Assistant.
• Be able to complete Paccar electric and MX engine training within a given time frame
• Understanding and adherence to supplier specific requirements and warranty process.
• Ownership of tools necessary to perform the duties described.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in using a laptop computer and Microsoft office programs.
• Work safely in an offsite environment

How you will make an impact:

• Perform general mechanical duties and assist in various technical tasks.
• Troubleshoot and repair all vehicle systems used in commercial trucks.
• Diagnose and repair transmission, clutch, and differential failures.
• Handle troubleshooting and repair of modern vehicle electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC systems in commercial on highway vehicles.
• Troubleshoot and repair engine systems and failures (Cummins, MX, Cat).
• Efficiently remove and replace any engine or truck component in a quality manner.
• Stay updated with supplier specific requirements and ensure they are followed.
• Proficient with welding, torch cutting, and fabrication.
• Attend training sessions via electronic classroom; travel within contiguous US for training when needed.
• Maintain a neat and orderly service truck, and proper handling of company tools.
• Coordinate with administrative team for scheduling and workload.
• Follow safe work practices and procedures, use safety equipment when required, respond to suggestions for working safely and seek assistance when necessary.
