Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to diagnose, overhaul, and repair refrigeration units on commercial trucks and trailers. You will test electrical and pneumatic systems, read schematics, and ensure work meets factory specifications.

Required: 6 years of tractor-trailer maintenance experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. ASE/Cargo certifications preferred; CDL with air brake preferred. Travel and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• 6 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Specialized training in refrigeration components overhaul required
• ASE Certification preferred
• 608/609 certifications preferred
• Proficiency with trade tools and safety practices
• Current CDL with air brake certification preferred
• Ability to read complex schematics and work under DOT/OSHA guidelines

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, overhaul, adjust, and repair refrigeration units on commercial trucks and trailers
• Test lines, components, and connections using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment
• Read complex schematics for refrigeration and AC equipment
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair orders
• Maintain clean, safe work area complying with Penske policies
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation
• Utilize hand and power tools safely for maintenance tasks
• Support preventative maintenance and tractor-trailer maintenance at location
• Verify dimensions and clearances per factory specs
