Job summary

Cox Fleet in Chesapeake, VA is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and advanced mechanical diagnostics in a mobile/field setting.

You will work on light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers, diagnose faults using diagnostic tools, road test vehicles, manage parts and documentation, and ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations. A strong lead on the jobsite and effective client communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years related field experience, or 5 years related field experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Own set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• DOT background screening and DOT physical may be required before employment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose equipment; road test to ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and document work orders using TRAIT app.
• Comply with OSHA, EPA, and DOT safety and environmental policies.
