Job summary

Road Wrench is seeking a Mobile Fleet Diesel Technician in West Chicago, IL, offering up to $40/hour with a four-day workweek. The role involves diagnosing and repairing commercial fleet vehicles at customer locations using a company-provided service truck, with no weekends and approx.

40–43 hours weekly. The technician will handle mobile diesel diagnostics and repairs, leveraging OEM software and scan tools, and work independently in the field to service a range of fleet brands.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of diesel repair experience.
• Strong diesel diagnostic and repair skills.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
• Experience with OEM diagnostic software and scan tools.
• Own a professional tool set appropriate for your experience.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Commercial fleet, Cummins diagnostic software, Autel, or Master/A-Level diesel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform mobile diesel diagnostics and repairs at commercial fleet customer locations.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical concerns on commercial diesel and fleet vehicles.
• Troubleshoot vehicle concerns using OEM diagnostic software and scan tools.
• Service Freightliner, International, Hino, Isuzu, Kenworth, and other commercial fleet vehicles.
• Complete assigned mechanical repairs and return vehicles to service.
• Work independently in the field while managing scheduled service jobs.
