Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Beaumont, TX is actively seeking a permanent, full-time Mobile Diesel Technician to support our heavy-duty truck fleet.

The role emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and major engine repairs in a fast-paced field setting. The position offers hourly pay of $33.00, weekly scheduling, and a range of benefits including health coverage after 30 days, PTO, 401(k) with company match, training, and a $2,000 retention bonus paid quarterly in year one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification preferred.
• Requires demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred.
• Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment.
• CDL CLASS A preferred.
• Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles.
• Proven ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customer, exhibit account management to facilitate preventive maintenance, repair estimates, and customer discussions.
• Coordinate work schedule as required by customers; road test vehicles to identify causes and ensure quality repairs.
• Perform PMs and vehicle repairs across systems (A/C, brakes, electrical, cooling, etc.).
• Maintain compliance with safety, DOT guidelines, and company policies.
• Document repair orders and maintain professional relationships across the organization.
