Job summary

The Pete Store LLC in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Diesel Technician to repair and maintain diesel engine industrial trucks per dealership and factory specs. You will diagnose malfunctions, order parts, and perform road tests, while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, or industry regulations.
• Licenses & Certifications required or preferred as listed in the job description.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains diesel engine industrial trucks according to dealership and factory specifications.
• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Road tests vehicles when required.
• Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the foreman.
• Ensures that customers’ vehicle is kept clean.

Brakes Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck - Preferred

Diesel Engines Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck - Preferred

Drive Train Certification for Eaton and Meritor - Preferred

Electrical/Electronic Systems Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck - Preferred

Heating and Air Conditioning Certification for Commercial Truck - Preferred

Manual Drive Train and Axle Certification for Auto/Light Truck - Preferred

State Emission Certification - Preferred

State Vehicle Inspector Certification - Preferred

Paccar MX Certification - Preferred

Cummins Engine Certification on ISB, ISC & ISX 2150 through 2350 - Preferred

Preventive Maintenance Inspection Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck - Preferred

Suspension and Steering Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck - Preferred
