Job summary

The Pete Store LLC in Florida seeks a skilled Diesel Engine Technician to repair and maintain diesel industrial trucks per dealership and factory specs.

You will diagnose malfunctions, source parts, document work, perform road tests, and participate in training programs. Two years of related experience is preferred; several certifications and a valid driver’s license are encouraged. This role offers competitive benefits and career growth.

Qualifications

• Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical manuals and safety procedures.
• Excellent communication with customers and team members.
• Certifications in relevant truck maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains diesel engine industrial trucks according to dealership and factory specifications.
• Diagnoses malfunction causes and performs repairs.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Examines vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required.
• Communicates with service advisor and foreman about additional work or delays.
• Documents all work performed and recommendations on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles when required.
• Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Supervises apprentice technicians as assigned.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the foreman.
• Keeps shop area neat and clean and maintains tools and manuals.
• Complies with all safety regulations and reports issues immediately.
• Other tasks as assigned.
