Job summary

Miller Transportation Group in Albany, NY, is hiring a Mobile Diesel Mechanic Technician for Miller Truck Leasing. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose engine fault codes using OEM software, and repair brakes, suspensions, and transmissions on Class 1–8 vehicles.

The role starts and finishes in the Albany shop, with service within a 50–60 mile radius using a company truck. A CDL (A or B) is required or can be obtained with company support; 3+ years as a diesel/heavy equipment

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a diesel/fleet/heavy equipment mechanic.
• Experience or training diagnosing and repairing Class 1–7 diesel tractors.
• CDL Class A or B or ability to obtain with company support.
• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and reconditioning on Class 1–8 vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair engine fault codes using OEM software and warranty procedures.
• Repair/replace brakes, steering, suspension and perform alignments.
• Replace clutches and transmissions.
• Start and finish at Albany shop; serve customers within 50–60 miles with company truck.
• Complete Vehicle Condition Reports on trucks and perform work at customer locations.

Miller Transportation Group is immediately hiring aMobile Diesel Mechanic Technician for ourMiller Truck Leasingdivision in Albany, NY. With over 100 years of experience and upwards of 8,000 trucks on the road, Miller currently operates over 40 Diesel Maintenance shops throughout KY, MD, PA, NJ, NY, CT, MA, and NH. You Will:

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles in the shop or on the road
• Diagnose document and repair engine fault codes (Company supplied OEM software) following proper warranty procedures
• Repair / Replace brakes steering components suspension and perform alignments
• Replace clutches & transmissions

• Will start and finish each day in our Albany shop and will support Miller Truck Leasing customers within a 50-60 mile radius of Albany with use of a company truck

• Perform Vehicle Condition Reports (DVCR's) on all trucks and perform required work at customer locations throughout the area

You Have:

• 3 or more years working as a diesel mechanic fleet mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic
• Experience or formal training diagnosing repairing and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors
• A valid CDL (Class A or B) or the ability to acquire a Commercial Driver License with the assistance of our trainer
• Hand tools
• Ability to work: Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM
• Experience working on Refrigeration Units is desired (ThermoKing or Carrier)
