Job summary

Miller Transportation Group is hiring a Mobile Diesel Mechanic Technician for Miller Truck Leasing in Albany, NY. Service and repair diesel trucks, perform preventive maintenance, and diagnose engine fault codes with OEM software. CDL readiness and practical tools are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a diesel/fleet/heavy equipment mechanic
• Experience or formal training diagnosing and repairing Class 1-7 diesel tractors
• CDL Class A or B or ability to obtain with company support
• Hand tools
• Mon-Fri 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Experience with refrigeration units (ThermoKing or Carrier) preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles in shop or on the road
• Diagnose, document and repair engine fault codes using company-supplied OEM software following warranty procedures
• Repair/replace brakes, steering components, suspension and alignments
• Replace clutches and transmissions
• Work from Albany shop each day and support Miller Truck Leasing customers within 50-60 miles with a company truck
• Perform Vehicle Condition Reports on all trucks and complete work at customer locations

Miller Transportation Group is immediately hiring aMobile Diesel Mechanic Technician for ourMiller Truck Leasingdivision in Albany, NY. With over 100 years of experience and upwards of 8,000 trucks on the road, Miller currently operates over 40 Diesel Maintenance shops throughout KY, MD, PA, NJ, NY, CT, MA, and NH. You Will:

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles in the shop or on the road
• Diagnose document and repair engine fault codes (Company supplied OEM software) following proper warranty procedures
• Repair / Replace brakes steering components suspension and perform alignments
• Replace clutches & transmissions

• Will start and finish each day in our Albany shop and will support Miller Truck Leasing customers within a 50-60 mile radius of Albany with use of a company truck

• Perform Vehicle Condition Reports (DVCR's) on all trucks and perform required work at customer locations throughout the area

You Have:

• 3 or more years working as a diesel mechanic fleet mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic
• Experience or formal training diagnosing repairing and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors
• A valid CDL (Class A or B) or the ability to acquire a Commercial Driver License with the assistance of our trainer
• Hand tools
• Ability to work: Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM
• Experience working on Refrigeration Units is desired (ThermoKing or Carrier)
