Position: Mobile Diesel Technician Level II

The Mobile Diesel Technician Level II will perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, diagnostics, and other duties. They will handle more advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision, continuing to develop mechanical and diagnostic skills, while meeting company performance standards.

DUTIES:
  1. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on various vehicles in a mobile environment.
  2. Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, engine electronics, and more.
  3. Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment, utilizing test instruments and road testing vehicles.
  4. Manage parts inventory and perform safety checks and inspections on company vehicles.
  5. Communicate effectively with clients and team members, managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  6. Document work and upload images using company devices and applications.
  7. Complete all forms accurately and timely, including DOT documentation.
  8. Work independently, maintaining productivity and adhering to safety and environmental policies.
  9. Obtain necessary parts from vendors and seek approvals for repairs as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma/GED with 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one.
  • Own a set of hand tools required for the job.
  • Ability to obtain ASE T8 certification within 18 months.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS:
  • ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, and 608/609 certifications.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks and operate tools and equipment.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to judge distances and use logic to evaluate solutions.
