Job description

Job Title: Mobile Diesel Mechanic II

As the Mobile Diesel Mechanic II for World Fuel Services, your responsibilities include maintaining service work on all company vehicles, scheduling and performing tank-testing jobs in compliance, working on meters, performing maintenance on trucks, and other tasks around the shop.

Location and Compensation

Location: Tacoma, WA. This position includes a work truck for commuting and work throughout the area.

Pay:

  • $30 - $35 per hour, depending on experience
  • Additional $2/hr for being a mobile mechanic
  • Additional $2/hr if holding a CDL A with tanker and hazmat endorsements
Principal Responsibilities
  1. Assess vehicles and machinery to diagnose and repair issues.
  2. Consult with clients to determine automotive requirements and communicate defects.
  3. Perform routine inspections and inform clients of issues.
  4. Maintain accurate logs of all work performed.
  5. Keep garage equipment and tools clean and safe.
  6. Adhere to safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  7. Schedule and perform tank tests.
  8. Work on various meters.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Travel and Scope

Local trips within the region, occasional support to shops and vendors. Low travel frequency, with some nights out as needed.

Performance Measures
  • Timely preventative maintenance and repairs within budget.
  • Effective prevention maintenance utilization.
  • Implementation of safety procedures and initiatives.
  • Fleet safety performance within the region.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of fleet maintenance experience.
  • Hands-on mechanical and fleet support experience.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety inspections, and DVIR reviews.
  • Technical expertise in transport, tank wagons, and vehicles.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and PlanetFM.
  • Preferred: Class A or B CDL, Hazmat, Tanker, and Tank Testing endorsements.
