Job Description: Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive (FCSA), headquartered in Indianapolis, is seeking a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician. The role involves performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, diagnostics, and other duties. The technician will perform both basic and advanced diagnostics under supervision, continually enhancing their mechanical skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform scheduled maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on various vehicles and trailers in a mobile environment.
2. Conduct minor repairs on truck and trailer equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, and more.
3. Diagnose and repair truck and trailer systems, using test instruments and road testing vehicles.
4. Manage parts inventory, maintain company vehicles, and ensure safety and compliance standards are met.
5. Document work and communicate effectively with clients, management, and support teams.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years of related experience or equivalent.
• Possession of necessary hand tools.
• Obtain ASE T8 certification within 18 months.
• Valid driver’s license, DOT medical card, and ability to pass background checks.
• Minimum age of 21 years due to interstate regulations.

Preferred Certifications:

• ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, 608/609 (as applicable).

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and physical ability to perform tasks.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and operate company vehicles safely.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and document work accurately.
