Position: Mobile Diesel Technician II
Fleet Services is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II. Responsibilities include performing DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, and learning advanced mechanical skills and diagnostics. Work is regularly audited for quality, and high performance metrics are expected.
DUTIES:
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on various vehicles in a mobile environment.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck systems including electrical, brake, cooling, engine electronics, diesel systems, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.
- Manage parts inventory and equipment on company-issued service trucks.
- Maintain and operate service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre-/post-trip inspections.
- Communicate effectively with clients to assess needs and provide solutions.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
- Document work performed, parts used, and observations using company devices and applications.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years of related experience.
- Own a set of necessary hand tools.
- Obtain ASE T8 certification within 18 months.
- Pass a DOT-regulated background check and physical; current DOT medical card with >4 months remaining can be used temporarily.
- Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations.
- Valid driver’s license and clean 3-year MVR required.
