Job Description
Responsibilities
- Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
- Handle basic maintenance of the truck including filling the tank with fuel, checking oil, keeping it clean, and ensuring required inspections are performed and documented.
- Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle properly stocked.
- Report to the Service Manager and be assigned duties daily.
- Be available for after-hours service calls and maintain an open work schedule.
- Maintain and inventory the supplied tools for maintaining diesel engine trucks and related equipment.
- Read job orders, observe and listen to the vehicle in operation to determine malfunctions, and plan work procedures.
- Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to determine and perform correct repairs.
- Perform diagnosis, removal, and replacement of parts such as injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, batteries, transmissions, and other components.
- Complete all diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system.
- Inspect safety devices and make adjustments as needed.
- Lubricate moving parts and drive the repaired vehicle to verify conformance to specifications.
- Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
- Document and submit paperwork accurately and promptly, including entering work into the mobile service system.
- Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
- Advise customers or service writers of upcoming repairs or services within the next three months.
- Participate in training and apply learned skills in daily work.

Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 7 years of experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
- Valid CDL and Medical card as required by FMVSS.
- Mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
