Job summary

Excel Truck Group in Chesapeake, VA is seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role performs scheduled work at customer locations, diagnosing mechanical problems and performing repairs on trucks with access to dedicated training and support.

Candidates with diesel truck technician experience and certifications are encouraged to apply. Freightliner/Mack/Cummins experience is a plus, and ownership of your own tools is required to succeed in this field.

Qualifications

• Has experience as a diesel truck technician and can perform repairs at customer locations.
• Completion of a diesel technician school and State Inspection Certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical problems and perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on trucks.
• Prepare and complete work orders; communicate with Parts for parts availability.
• Operate at customer locations and at the shop as needed; maintain a safe work environment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Diagnoses mechanical problems; able to handle regular maintenance, light and heavy repairs for Trucks. To include repairs brakes, transmissions, rear-ends, clutches, hydraulic systems, valves, pumps and electrical problems and engine repairs.

• Performs repairs and or scheduled maintenance as needed as a mobile Technician at our customers location.
• Ideally certified to perform State Inspections and CDL.
• Able to work independently. Can diagnose and repair on the roadside and or not at our dealership.
• Prepares work orders for repairs and works closely with our Parts department to insure an efficient repair.
• Promotes cooperation and teamwork.
• Willing to train and maintain certifications necessary as ongoing technician training and development.

• Must have your own tools.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
