Job summary

Excel Truck Group in Chesapeake, VA is seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The role focuses on performing scheduled maintenance and repairs at our customers' locations, ensuring uptime and reliability for Freightliner and other heavy trucks.

Candidates with diesel technician school completion and State Inspection Certification are preferred. Experience with Freightliner, Mack, Sterling, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, and Cummins is ideal but not required.

Qualifications

• Diesel technician school completion preferred.
• State Inspection Certification desired.
• Experience with heavy trucks a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel trucks at customer locations.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections.
• Work independently in the field and coordinate with Parts as needed.
• Maintain safety and tool inventory while on site.

Excel Truck Group is seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join the team in Chesapeake, VA. This role is responsible for performing scheduled work at our customer locations.

If you have experience as a diesel truck technician, we want to hear from you. Certifications are a plus and can earn you an increase in wages. Experience with Freightliner, Mack, Sterling, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, and/or Cummins ideal but not required. Completion of a Diesel technician school and State Inspection Certification desired.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Diagnoses mechanical problems; able to handle regular maintenance, light and heavy repairs for Trucks. To include repairs brakes, transmissions, rear-ends, clutches, hydraulic systems, valves, pumps and electrical problems and engine repairs.

• Performs repairs and or scheduled maintenance as needed as a mobile Technician at our customers location.
• Ideally certified to perform State Inspections and CDL.
• Able to work independently. Can diagnose and repair on the roadside and or not at our dealership.
• Prepares work orders for repairs and works closely with our Parts department to insure an efficient repair.
• Promotes cooperation and teamwork.
• Willing to train and maintain certifications necessary as ongoing technician training and development.

• Must have your own tools.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
