Job summary

Excel Truck Group in Ashland, VA is seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Technician to join our first-shift team at our new Ashland dealership. This role performs scheduled work at customer locations, diagnosing mechanical problems and performing maintenance on trucks, including brakes, transmissions, and engines.

Experience with Freightliner, Mack, Sterling, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, and Cummins is ideal but not required. Completion of a diesel technician school and certification is desired.

Qualifications

• Experience as a diesel technician, preferably with Freightliner, Mack, Sterling, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, or Cummins
• Completion of a diesel technician school and certification is desired
• Ability to perform roadside/on-site repairs and maintain certifications

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses mechanical problems and performs scheduled maintenance on trucks
• Performs repairs or maintenance at customer locations as a mobile technician
• Ideally certified to perform State Inspections and CDL
• Prepares work orders and coordinates with Parts for efficient repairs
• Promotes teamwork and maintains certifications
• Owns and uses personal mechanic tools
• Contributes to Elite Safety culture and handles other related duties

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Diagnoses mechanical problems; able to handle regular maintenance,lightand heavy repairs for Trucks. To includerepairsbrakes, transmissions, rear-ends, clutches, hydraulic systems, valves, pumps and electrical problems and engine repairs.

• Performs repairs and or scheduled maintenance as needed as a mobile Technician at our customers location.
• Ideally certified to perform State Inspections and CDL.
• Able to work independently. Can diagnose andrepair onthe roadside and or not at our dealership.
• Prepareswork orders for repairs andworksclosely with ourPartsdepartment toinsure an efficientrepair.
• Promotes cooperation and teamwork.
• Willing to train andmaintaincertifications necessary as ongoing technician training and development.
