Job summary

Matthai Material Handling & Vitan Equipment is seeking an experienced Forklift Technician / Field Service Mechanic to troubleshoot and repair heavy-duty material handling equipment at customer locations. This field-based role emphasizes diagnostic expertise across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to keep fleets operating safely.

You will travel within your territory performing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs, logging work via mobile dispatch and ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience repairing forklifts, heavy equipment, diesel trucks, or auto mechanics looking to transition to heavy equipment.
• Strong diagnostic instincts and a safety-first mindset on the job.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record to operate the company service truck.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems directly at customer locations
• Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to keep local businesses running
• Hit the road across your assigned territory - no getting stuck in the same shop every day
• Ensure all equipment is safe, compliant, and up to solid operating standards
• Log your service work accurately via mobile dispatch and communicate updates clearly
