Job summary

Naumann Hobbs Material Handling, Inc. seeks a Mobile Diesel/Forklift Technician for our Las Vegas, NV team. This full-time role covers shop and field work, maintaining and repairing forklifts and heavy equipment to minimize downtime.

You will troubleshoot, inspect, and document service activities while adhering to OSHA standards. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of diesel/forklift/heavy equipment experience, own tools, and a solid grasp of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience as a diesel/forklift/heavy equipment technician or equivalent.
• Owns and maintains personal hand tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks, forklifts, and heavy equipment (gas, diesel, electric).
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues for optimal performance and safety.
• Conduct inspections/tests to identify issues early and prevent downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance actions.
• Respond to shop and field service calls for repairs.
• Collaborate with the team to improve equipment reliability.

What You'll Do

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various types of trucks, forklifts, and heavy equipment (gas, diesel, and electric)
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to ensure optimal equipment performance and safety
• Conduct inspections and tests to proactively identify potential issues before they escalate
• Maintain accurate and timely records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities
• Respond to service calls for both shop and field repairs
• Collaborate with team members to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in forklift and material handling technology
• Follow all OSHA safety standards and company policies while maintaining a clean and organized workspace

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, forklift mechanic or heavy equipment technician
• Must supply own hand tools
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities
• Capable of working independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to pass background and drug screening
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational certification in mechanics preferred
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record (take-home company vehicle provided for field work)

Preferred Qualifications

• OEM certifications (Toyota, Hyster, Crown, Cummins, Detroit, etc.)
• ASE or equivalent mechanical certifications
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
